Origin

The Pinot Noir variety is one of the most highly regarded grapes. These demanding vines favour cool locations in clay soils. Our Pfaffen-Schwabenheimer Mandelbaum vineyard in Rheinhessen offers the ideal conditions for the juice to develop its typical light red colour and characteristically distinct structure of acidity. Our grape juices are top quality with good development potential.

Expertise

The juice is a deep purple colour in the glass. It needs some air and a large glass to allow its aromas to unfold. Forest berry, cranberry, sweet cherry and rhubarb aromas gradually develop, alongside lovage, vanilla, cedar and spice notes. On the palate, sweetness rules in the attack then a velvety tannic structure gradually takes hold. The finish is characterised by delicate acidity, juicy berry fruit and a velvety texture. It is a complex grape juice that develops well on the palate, despite its sweetness. This same sweetness makes it an excellent sprit-zer: mix it 1:1 with sparkling water for a livelier, less sweet juice with more apparent tannins, providing a pleasantly tart and fruity note. This juice spritzer goes well with classics of German cuisine, such as a Sauerbraten pot roast or Zwiebelrostbraten (roast beef with oni-ons). Its structure of tannins means that it goes very well with grilled red meat. Thanks to its sweetness, it makes an excellent accompa-niment to the classic ‘Tournedo Rossini’, a roast fillet of beef with goose liver and black truffle.
