For fans of tart apples, this variety is excellent either fresh or baked. We gently press the apples to produce 100% directly-pressed juice.

Expertise

The bouquet is vibrantly tart and fresh, displaying aromas of late harvested thick-skinned apple with hints of apple leaf, aniseed and lemon zest. On the palate it is livened up by crisp and fresh acidity, and the reserved sweetness once again teases out fruity autumnal notes and hints of fruit in rum. Full-bodied tannins give the finish the bite it needs, leaving a pleasantly well-structured, almost grainy sensation behind. A tart, fresh apple juice which goes with many hearty dishes. If the juice is mixed 1:1 with strongly sparkling water it becomes even more lively and fresh, truly cleansing the palate and leaving you thirsty for the next sip. The juice is a perfect accompaniment to gravlax with apple horseradish and a potato rosti, tarte flambée with bacon and onions, strong rye bread with Black Forest ham, or hearty stews such as Pichelsteiner with beans, potatoes and bacon.
